I am so proud of the hard work, focus and effort students put into the FCAT Reading and Math tests last week! We now only have two more days. This Tuesday and Wednesday students will wrap up the FCAT with the Science test. Please continue to encourage your child and to do their best and make sure they S.E.R.F.: sleep, eat, rest and focus! Also because of the testing, two 80 minute tests, we will not have a focus story, vocabulary or spelling again this week.
Reading
In reading we will continue our practice of visualizing while reading along with working with author's purpose and theme in stories.
Students should also still read and log in each night Monday thru Thursday. Last week I did not assign reading logs due to testing. This week students will be assigned reading logs.
Writing
Students will wrap up their study of report writing with a focus on conclusions, visuals and bibliography. Their report will be due Wednesday, May 2. They can type or hand write their report.
We will move on to response to literature by reading text together and discussing what the text was about and what their thoughts and feelings were about the book.

Hey!! Can't believe how time has flown!! We have had Spring break and our Spring holiday. We have also ended a nine weeks and begun the fourth and last nine weeks of the year!
The students have had fun with spirit week and the FCAT pep rally featuring Jaxson De Ville. He brought a great message to the students about the upcoming test. It was if you can dream it, be it, believe it, then you will become it. Students had lots of fun singing as well as SERFing....a reminder to get a good night's Sleep, Eat a good breakfast, Relax and Focus on the test.
This week since we will be testing Monday thru Thursday students will not have a selection story, vocabulary or spelling list nor will I assign reading logs for the week.
We will continue working on the report writing standard and writing the report through the week.
